A Few Kentucky Herps

Post  Barry on Fri Sep 09, 2011 7:33 pm

I hit the field with some herping friends over Labor Day weekend.....

Cumberland River

Ringneck

Midland Water Snake

Can you see this?

Fence Lizard

Ground Skink

Black Kingsnake

Ky "trapjaw".....the cottonmouth

Safety first

Sunday evening rain brought out some amphibians...

American Toad

S. Leopard Frog

Green Frog
Looking forward to next time!

Great shots Barry.

I didn't see that fence lizard in the first picture.

Update

The early fall weather has most snakes feeding, preparing to shed, and hanging around metal.
The Marbled Salamanders are preparing to pass on their genes too.
